Microsoft Excel - Level 3

This advanced Excel course equips learners with powerful tools to manage, analyze, and present data at a professional level. Participants will master the use of tables, filters, and structured references for efficient data handling. The course dives deep into PivotTables and PivotCharts, including advanced filtering, slicers, and custom formatting. Learners will automate tasks using macros, explore financial functions, perform What-If Analyses, and consolidate data from multiple sources. Additional topics include sparklines, chart templates, workbook collaboration, protection features, and advanced customization to ensure both functionality and integrity of workbooks. Available as an open-enrollment class for the public or customized contract training for employers.

  • Create and manage Excel tables using structured references and filters for efficient data analysis.

    • Design and customize PivotTables and PivotCharts, including applying filters, slicers, and formatting options.

    • Automate repetitive tasks by creating, editing, and managing macros, including assigning macros to buttons and managing macro security settings.

    • Perform advanced What-If Analysis using Scenario Manager, Data Tables, and/or Goal Seek.

    • Import, consolidate, and visualize data from multiple sources using charts, chart templates, and sparklines.

    • Use advanced financial and statistical functions for complex calculations and decision-making.

    • Collaborate within Excel by adding comments, alt text, and using shared workbook tools.

    • Enhance workbook functionality with form controls and data validation.

    • Protect workbooks by using encryption, worksheet protection, and document inspection tools.

    • Apply best practices for creating professional, dynamic, and secure workbooks for real-world business scenarios.

After this course, students will be able to customize cell appearance, understand and use different types of cell addresses as needed, create and edit charts and pivot tables, and sort worksheets. The resulting spreadsheets become robust analysis and presentation tools, suitable for any entry-level business professional.

Students should have intermediate skills with Excel.
