Ivy Tech Hosts Annual Agriculture and Engineering Challenge 鈥楥ob and Cog鈥
TERRE HAUTE聽鈥 Ivy Tech鈥檚 annual agriculture and engineering challenge 鈥楥ob and Cog鈥, brought together 17 schools and more than 500 high school students from throughout the state on Friday, April 28.
The event was hosted by Ivy Tech鈥檚 School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science and aims to prepare students for careers in agriculture and engineering. The event featured a variety of competitions that tested students' skills in areas including drones, livestock judging, robotics, GPS/GIS mapping, and more.
The event was made possible by a $10,000 Duke Energy Foundation grant. "Duke Energy is a proud supporter of Ivy Tech's Engineering and Agriculture Challenge, 鈥楥ob and Cog鈥, because it鈥檚 a great way to get students excited about education and career opportunities in these fields,鈥 said Rick Burger, Duke Energy鈥檚 district manager. 鈥淏y combining these two disciplines (agriculture and engineering), we are supporting an ever-growing need for innovation, which is so important for our region.鈥
