How long have you worked for Ivy Tech?

I have worked for Ivy Tech for just over one year.

What other positions have you held with the college?

This is the only position I've held at Ivy Tech so far.

Tell us about your team and what they do.

Our Educational Technology (Ed Tech) team is part of the Indianapolis Center for Teaching and Learning. It consists of our educational technology coordinator, Nathan Wagner, and three educational technologists: Lisa Erdosy, Valeria Grasham and me.

Our primary responsibilities include supporting students, faculty and staff with online learning platforms such as IvyLearn, Zoom, Learn Anywhere and various third-party publisher tools. We provide in-person, online and phone-based support for help requests. In addition, we facilitate training and professional development for IvyLearn and Learn Anywhere, including onboarding and training for new faculty hires.

What is your specific role on that team?

In my role, I鈥檓 actively involved in responding to help requests and in creating and/or delivering training materials and learning resources for both students and faculty.

Why do you enjoy working at Ivy Tech?

I enjoy working at Ivy Tech because it allows me to contribute to student and faculty success by sharing knowledge, solving problems, and supporting meaningful learning experiences. Whether I鈥檓 helping a faculty member streamline their course with new tools or assisting a student in accessing their coursework, I appreciate playing a part in creating a supportive and productive educational environment. I also appreciate being connected to a statewide network of Ed Tech professionals. Our regular collaboration strengthens the support we provide and helps each campus benefit from shared expertise and ideas.

What else would you like us to know about you?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing pickleball, biking, and cooking.

What is the Employee Spotlight?

The Monthly Employee Spotlight is an initiative by the Human Resources and Administration team at Ivy Tech Indianapolis designed to celebrate the individuals who contribute to our campus's vibrant and collaborative environment. Each month, an employee is randomly selected for recognition. With the support of their vice chancellor, the selected individual shares insights about their role, background, and personal motivations, fostering a deeper connection within our community.

This initiative replaced the 鈥淓mployee of the Month鈥 program, which faced challenges despite its positive intent. Inspired by employee feedback, the spotlight fosters connection and understanding across all departments, highlighting the unique contributions of faculty and staff. It鈥檚 a chance to celebrate the people who make our campus thrive.

By sharing these spotlights, we aim to highlight the diversity of roles and talents within our campus while aligning with Ivy Tech's academic program spotlights. These features provide a unique opportunity for employees to connect and build camaraderie, showcasing the people who make Ivy Tech Indianapolis a remarkable place to work and learn.
