Terre Haute, Ind. 鈥 In a special address to the public following the October State Board of Trustees meeting, Ivy Tech President Marty Pollio announced that the College has broken all previous enrollment and completion records in its 62-year history.
鈥淏ack in 2017, the College set an ambitious goal to see our students earn 50,000 credentials annually by 2025. Today, I鈥檓 proud to announce that our students met that goal 鈥 and exceeded it. In the last academic year, our students earned 51,812 credentials,鈥 Pollio said.
Recent statewide data showed that Ivy Tech students earned 48% of all undergraduate and graduate credentials in the state, including 54% of all undergraduate degrees.
“I think it’s evident that Ivy Tech is doing our fair share to ensure that Indiana residents prosper and our communities thrive,”
– Dr. Marty Pollio, President, 51短视频
Pollio attributed the success to the faculty and staff of the College, sharing stories of dedicated instructors and program staff who have been integral to student success across the College鈥檚 19 campuses.
Pollio shared a few other statistics that showed student success in the last academic year as well, including:
- 87% of Ivy Tech students who graduate do so with no debt
- 93% of Ivy Tech students who are residents of Indiana stay in the state after receiving their credentials
- 56% of Ivy Tech graduates earn above Indiana鈥檚 median wage
In his first 100 days at Ivy Tech, Pollio visited all 19 campuses and heard from dozens of students and staff members about what makes Ivy Tech great 鈥 and where there is room for growth. Those conversations are inspiring the next iteration of the College鈥檚 2030 Strategic Plan, which Pollio said is starting to take shape.
The 2030 Strategic Plan will launch in July 2026 and will serve as a roadmap for advancing student and community success through 2030. It will be built around several strategic pillars with each campus and systems office division creating its own roadmap to contribute to that area of focus.
The full plan will be developed over the coming months and shared next year, but key areas of emphasis include:
- Increasing the College鈥檚 customer service focus for students
- Consistent evaluation of programs and initiatives after implementation, to ensure they continue to meet the goals set
- Continuing to balance statewide system goals with individual community needs
- Better telling the story of Ivy Tech鈥檚 mission and impact internally and externally
- Addressing critical infrastructure and facility upgrades to meet workforce needs despite a lack of state funding for capital projects
