The 51¶ÌÊÓÆµ (ES) provides support for students as they navigate the college system from application through the first several weeks of their first semester. Emphasis is placed on guiding newly admitted students through enrollment steps, course registration, and initial engagement to promote first-semester success.

The ES helps students identify challenges, define goals, and access campus and community resources to foster persistence. This role requires proficiency in processes related to assessment, first-semester advising, registration, financial aid, and business support services.

Major Responsibilities
• Conduct targeted outreach to newly admitted students to coach them through enrollment steps and prepare them for the first weeks of classes.
• Manage a caseload to promote retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions.
• Maintain and monitor case notes in electronic student record systems.

Assessment Support:
• Assist students with assessment processes, including reviewing and applying assessment waivers.
• Make referrals to appropriate resources such as study materials, the Tutoring Center, or the academic advising center.

First Semester Advising:
• Advise students on degree programs, prerequisites, and course scheduling.
• Assist students in developing individualized Academic Completion Plans that outline course sequencing, milestones, and strategies to support timely degree completion and academic success.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college programs and policies to provide accurate advising.

Registration Support:
• Counsel and assist students with online registration and the Degree Completion Tracker system.
• Answer registration-related questions and guide students through scheduling processes.

Financial Aid Support:
• Provide general guidance and make referrals to the Financial Aid Office regarding FAFSA, verification, loan eligibility, scholarships, work-study, and state/federal awards.

Business Support:
• Respond to inquiries related to bookstore accounts, fund disbursements, tuition and fees, payment options and payment plans, accounts, collections, refunds, and bursar holds.
