Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.

Job DescriptionÌý

PROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach andÌýfacilitateÌýstudent learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabusÌýappropriate toÌýcourse being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.ÌýMaintain student attendance and grading records according toÌýcollegeÌýpolicy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.ÌýSubmits requested information within established timelines.Ìý

STUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.Ìý

INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes ofÌýcontractedÌýcourse. Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. asÌýappropriate. In event of emergency absence,ÌýnotifiesÌýprogram/department chair. Conduct all activities withÌýan appreciationÌýand respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. PromoteÌýsameÌýas an integral part of one's work.Ìý

Education, ExperienceÌýAndÌýOther RequirementsÌý

A qualified faculty member in psychology meets the discipline standard through one of two routes: Ìý

  • Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, or any other professionally recognized specialty in psychology,ÌýORÌý

  • Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology-related courses, including a course in statistics and/or researchÌýmethodology. Ìý
