Buying Jeans Off-Line

In some cases, lovers of designer denim may prefer to do their jeans shopping the old fashioned way (not online!). Maybe you don't have a credit card or PayPal account, maybe you've been burned by counterfeit jeans in the past...whatever the case may be, you do have options.

However, keep in mind that there isn't a retail store on the planet that has a selection comparable to the internet. Using the computer you're in front of right now you can literally browse thousands upon thousands of deals on discount designer jeans. 99 times out of 100, you'll be able to find a better price online. But if you're still not convinced...

Discount Designer Jeans Retailers

The following is a list of retailers that specialize in re-selling quality clothing at generous discounts. They usually carry a wide range of clothing, but designer jeans are usually among their more popular items. Keep in mind that clothing is bought from private parties, so there is no absolute guarantee that the jeans are authentic. Of course, the employees are trained to know the difference between authentic designer jeans and impostors, but nobody is perfect! It's also worth mentioning that if you aren't set up to sell items on eBay, the following locations are also great places to exchange your pre-owned designer jeans for cash:

  • Buffalo Exchange - Originally opening in Tuscon, AZ in 1994, Buffalo Exchange now has 34 stores in 13 states (and is still growing). Most locations are in California and Arizona, but they can be found from coast to coast. Check out their site for location details.
  • Crossroads Trading Co. - One of our personal favorites, Crossroads Trading Co. always has great finds at incredible prices (7 jeans usually go for around $32). Crossroads stores are almost exclusively on the west coast, with a few locations in Chicago as exceptions. Check the site for location details.
  • Plato's Closet - This nationwide designer recycling franchise is probably the largest one that we recommend. In business since 1999, you can find Plato's Closet locations almost anywhere. Since it's such a large and popular chain, you have to sift through the non-designer items a bit more at Plato's Closet, but you can definitely find some diamonds in the rough.
