Virtually all brands of designer jeans are sold with a very long inseam. Instead of selling various lengths, styles are all manufactured with the same inseam (but with different waist sizes). It would be very difficult to offer such quality denim jeans in several different lengths and still maintain a reasonable price. So, what do those of us who aren't exactly supermodel height supposed to do?
The best thing you can do is have your designer jeans professionally altered to match your height. We do not recommend trying to alter them yourself unless you really know what you are doing. You don't want to spend upwards of $100 on a pair of jeans and then botch the hemming process. A professional seamstress can alter the length of the jeans and reattach the original hem so that it they won't look like they have been altered. The good news is, getting a pair of jeans hemmed is usually not very expensive.
Most major department stores will offer alterations. We recommend Nordstrom, but there are countless other quality alternatives. It may be a good idea to look online for a local independent tailor and build a relationship with them if you plan to have jeans or other garments altered in the future.
